The Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) is excited to announce the four winners of the Student-Athlete of the Month Award for November: Kaemon Tran, Emma Ward, Brady Williams & Adam Zamecnik.
During the 2024/25 season the CSSHL introduced the Student-Athlete of the Month Award for the four different CSSHL divisions/age brackets: Eastern, West Female, West U18 Male (U18 Prep, U17 Prep, U17) and West U15 Male (U15 Prep and U15) .
This award is aimed at recognizing the student-athletes within the CSSHL and acknowledges their hard work, dedication, commitment, leadership, academics and community impact.
We would like to congratulate these four student-athletes, who were all nominated by their programs, for their hard work in the month of November.
East Division – Kaemon Tran, Ontario Hockey Academy
“Kaemon. captain of the OHA East U18 team, is a top-achieving student-athlete who makes our school a better place with his positive attitude and smile. He is a regular name on our Academic Honour Roll and models good behaviour for those around him.”
West Female Division – Emma Ward, North Shore Warriors
“Emma has established herself as one of the top goalies in the league, consistently delivering elite performances and giving our team a chance to win every single game. Her work ethic is unmatched — she’s the first one at the rink every day, prepared, focused, and ready to compete.
Beyond her on-ice success, Emma is an outstanding student who excels in school and stays on top of every responsibility. She manages her academic workload with maturity and discipline, setting a strong example for her teammates.
Emma is also an incredible teammate. She brings positive energy to the room, supports everyone around her, and is always cheering on her teammates’ success. Her leadership, attitude, and commitment make our team better both on and off the ice.
Emma embodies what it means to be a dedicated athlete, strong student, and great teammate, and she is truly deserving of this nomination.”
West Male U15 Division – Brady Williams, Calgary International Hockey Academy
“Brady is a model student, he is respectful and hard working in the classroom. Brady has a great attitude and is proactive when missing school for long road trips. Brady currently holds the following grades:
Math 8 – 94
Humanities 8 – 97
Science 8 – 98
Options 8 – 94”
West Male U18 Division – Adam Zamecnik, Pilot Mound Hockey Academy
“Adam has a 97.75% average in his courses. He’s currently taking top academic courses in a mixture of both grade 11 and 12. He is looked at as a leader on and off the ice. Adam was an active participate in our school and community Remembrance Day Service, reading a poem at each service. Adam is a well-regarded student by both peers and school staff.”
